Lupe Calls "CRS" A Pet Project

"Lupe: We’re all on the Glow in the Dark tour together, including Rihanna, with Kanye. Uh, and while we’re on tour we’re coming up with ideas, and different ways to do music and fashion and art and kind of everything. So yeah, we’re still working on it. It’s kind of like our little pet project. " Click here to read the rest of this interview.

Lyrics-CRS Remix of "Everyone Nose"

CRS Remix of "Everyone Nose"

[Kanye]
Hey, do you have any black inside you?
Would you like some?
You know you got a right to
Do whatever you like to
Don C, we got that right one
That right one in the club
Always the flyest
Always got her hands the highest
She stopped drinking diet coke
She on that coke diet
She bat- she bat her eyelids
That girl is so wired
I know she’s so tired
But, ooh she’s on fire
Hundred dollar bills
Look at you
Look at you
Hundred dollar bills
This ain’t new
This ain’t new
From that Paris, Lindsay, Britney
Mary Kate, and Whitney
People say that they clean
Mother fucker, don’t bull-shit me!

All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom
All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom
All the girls standing in the
All the girls standing in the
All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom

[Pharrell]
You left your nigga home
You said you at your sister’s
You and your girlfriends roam (wrong?)
You in here takin’ pictures
You ain’t gotta tell us
You spending Daddy’s cash
Your girlfriend’s jealous
You got the fattest ass
One down to pee
One tryin’a leave
It’s hot as fuck
But you just dyin’a ski
It’s plain as black and white
Like a fat panda
Your brain is Magic City
Your nose is Atlanta
I say think ‘bout your future
You can’t do this tomorrow
You don’t hear a word
You see that SLR-oh
You like
Hey Pharrell
I ain’t tryin’a kill your mood
But I can do the Star Trak sign
See?
Killa dude

All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom
All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom (On fire)
All the girls standing in the
All the girls standing in the
All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom

[Lupe]
Now she got high hopes
Just to say hi to us
She want the high life
She like them higher-ups
She know we high rollin’
She know it’s high stakes
That’s why she high speedin’
Out on that high way
She say she high maintenance
She say she high fashion
She say she high price
I think she high cappin’
She had her high heels
I had my high tops
Sippin’ the Hi-C
Eatin’ hydrox
I asked her how it feel
Up on this high rise
She said this high score
This was the high life
She got her high-pod
Bumpin’ her high-tunes
This higher education
Welcome to high school

All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom
All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom (On fire)
All the girls standing in the
All the girls standing in the
All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom

I could use some help with the first part of Push-T’s verse. He’s doing some play on words with “key” and “okay” I think. I can’t quite follow. I’ll spend some more time on it later. Also, as you can see, there is a place in Lupe's verse where I dunno what he's saying because I think he is putting the word "high" into other words, but I'm not sure. Thoughts? Thanks for your patience!

Drama with CRS?

Okay, so I'm not gonna comment on these articles, so judge them for yourself.
Supposed Lu / Ye disagreement
Past article on Lupe from the same author.

CRS plus Pusha-T of the Clipse on "Everyone Nose" Remix

You need to go to Kanye's Blog now! He has posted the remix of everyone nose featuring Lupe, himself, and Pusha-T of the Clipse! Waaah! Some CRS collaboration, finally! Click here to listen!!!
Kanye says this is not the final mix, but he will have that for us soon. I wonder if they will use all those verses and add more or N*E*R*D's lyrics. Hmm I dunno maybe it will stay with just their verses and then the chorus. I will do another lyrics meaning post if there is enough interest in this song. How do you like it?

More from Lu on CRS

Click here for the MTV article that included the following quotes from Lupe:
"So, I did a song. Took Thom Yorke's 'Eraser,' cut it up, put 'Us Placers' on it, because I was going to do a mixtape called Us Placers and remake Thom Yorke's album [The Eraser] and Radiohead's stuff. I sent the record out, and it was initially supposed to have Kanye, and I wanted [U.K. artist] the Streets [on there]. The Streets, I got no response. He asked me to do the song for one of his artists. Then Kanye jumped on it and was like, 'I'm going to send it to P.' Then P sent it back, and it was like, 'This is the first song right here. Let's do it.' That was, like, a year and a half ago, and the whole time we've been figuring out what to do."
"We don't know if there's going to be an album from CRS, what CRS are going to be," he said. "All we know is we're going to debut a piece of CRS on the Kanye tour. You have to come see it."

Lupe also promised that "Us Placers" will be performed soon.

"We're gonna debut CRS on the tour." -Lu

BBC's interview with Lupe actually gives us some new information! Awesome.

"Lupe said: 'It was Pharrell's idea one day in the studio 'cause we're all similar, same likes and same dislikes, same goals and aspirations.'
'So on that level we wanted to create some music. But we haven't actually been in the studio together, everything we did separately and just emailed it to each other.'
But Lupe has revealed that all three are on the road in May.
He said: 'The stars aligned for us all to go on tour this summer for Glow in the Dark in the US, so we're gonna debut CRS on the tour.'"

Click here for the whole article.

In the blogosphere: http://www.childrebelsoldier.com now redirects to the FNF blog on Lupe's official site. It was previously a blog by someone who seemed to be from Lupe's inner circle. It randomly stopped being updated a while ago.

Child Rebel Soldier T-Shirts

Check out this new CRS T-Shirt. I'm not gonna buy it 'cause it's not quite what I like, but it is still really exciting to see more CRS merchandise out there.
Kanye and Pharrell are both said to have been spotted attending Jay-Z and Beyonce's wedding on 4/4/08. They musta had to spend a ton of time on planes that weekend because the next day was Springroove in Japan and the Bape anniversary party and Pharrell's birthday so I'm sure they were busy.
Lupe's video for Paris/Tokyo is done and it is awesome. If you haven't checked it out yet then you need to do that now. It's got great scenery and costumes. Basically I think it's perfect for the song. Lupe looks like the fly Indiana Jones when he's got that glasses/hat combo going on. I will have some screen-capture icons and graphics from that up soon.
The Glow In The Dark Tour starts in two days.

A Closer Look at "Us Placers"

Okay so in general “Us Placers” is about each members experiences with becoming famous and how it has changed their lives. I think the title “Us Placers” refers to placing like placing in a competition (being in the top 3) or like places on the charts and such. So the song is offering each members perspective of where they are in the industry, what it’s like to be in their “place.”

(Lupe Fiasco)
Yeah, Just a lil bit (just a lil bit) And it goes
Lifestyles of the rich and famous
Bought a big house and a whole lot of rangers
A fresh new couch and a whole lot of trainers
A closet full of clothes and some brand new dangers
And
Some Mexican floral arrangers
A great big TV that'll entertain us
Some colorful commissions for some high paid painters
Someone to take the wrap so that I stay stainless
And
A new relationship with a banker
Two pinky rings for my manicured fingers
A trained German Shepard that bark when it's angered
To watch my possessions and look out for strangers
And
A 50 foot yacht with an anchor
Young supermodel that shall remain nameless
Up to this point in his verse, Lupe has pretty much just been listing all the things he has been able to get since becoming famous, mostly things he bought. (Some of these things Lupe might not have actually bought, but he's listing what's typical in "life styles of the rich and famous") Then he ends his verse by concluding that even though all the above changes have been made to his life, he knows money doesn’t solve problems:
Ups and the downs, the sames and the changes
All the money in the world don't make it painless (no)

The chorus is basically just saying that Lupe, Kanye, and Pharrell are here to stay and will not be leaving the music industry despite anyone’s efforts. “And they love it” refers to the fans who are not phased by efforts to “erase” Lu, P, or ‘Ye. The fans continue to love all that the CRS members do.
(But they love it and they love it)
The more you try to erase me
(And they love it and they love it)
The more that I appear, oh
(and they love it and they love it)
The more, the more you try the eraser
The more that you appear

Kanye’s verse is about how he can see people everywhere trying to become known. He can see how MySpace and the internet have created new channels for self-promotion, but many people are still struggling to get their tracks heard or their faces in magazines.
(Kanye West)
(Plain Pat what up?)
Lifestyles of the broke and famous
Let you know how crazy this game is
Look at all the new beautiful faces
At home supermodel, MySpaces
Long for their shot on the TV screens
American Idol never seen these dreams
Just last week they want to see ID
Now they got you in VIP, huh?
Those two lines are talking about how fame can be really sudden for people: one minute no one knows who you are, the next minute you could be the life of the party.
How many people almost famous
You almost remember what they name is
Like “Hey, didn’t you play in..? Nah it couldn’t be, quit playin’”
This line is about how many of those people who become suddenly famous only experience 15 minutes of fame before they are forgotten again. Maybe the person started to really rise and blow up, but suddenly nobody cares anymore and the media has moved on to the next star-of-the-minute.
I try to keep that balance
After MTV that’s a Real World Challenge
I think that Kanye is saying he has to keep it all in perspective because even though he is on top, he has seen tons of people just disappear after they had their moment in the spot light. He references The Real World because that show is a source of many star-of-the-minute people who everyone knows at one point, but they end up on infomercials and bat mitzvahs. Just like that, they’re back to being unknown:
Back on that train
Never to be heard from again…

(Chorus)
I already said what I think that’s about.

(Pharrell Williams)
P’s verse is focusing on the chaos of the media and how people can be focused on the drama when really there are other things in the world that are more important.
G.R.I.P P.I.M.P
I, any spelling come on, bitch, that’s me
I bring a burning sensation to the urban eye
Like an eye-drop of Turpentine
That’s a metaphore for how Pharrell sees his effect on people. He considers himself a reality check for many.
You can listen to the serpent, fine
But the earth got gas once it burps its fine
I guess this shows I get a little lost in this part of his verse. I’m gonna try to break down all the metaphors and references, but I can’t be sure of what he was really thinking when he said it.
Someone around me they talk about degrees
Not G.H.G, how to cook a quarter key (like coke, right? Or I guess he could be talking about this, this, or this, but I think he means like cook coke into crack)
Talking all nasal, he ain’t over that cold (coke use causes cold-like symptoms)
No glove scrub, Manny just over that stove (cooking coke into crack)
Perfect paradigm
Wrong place wrong time
Should have been Phizer, GlaxoSmithKline (World's two biggest pharmaceutical. See wiki: GlaxoSmithKline, Phizer)
Number one chemist
Look at him no blemish
Egg shell off white like a DuPont finish
Young, dumb, high strung, who could handle us
After referencing many things that are important to today’s youth and what is portrayed as priorities by the media, Pharrell puts all those material thins into perspective by talking about the beauty of nature:
I wonder how Gods gon’ paint today’s canvasses
Obviously this next part is a reference to the Virginia Tech shooting that occurred last year. P is saying how it was really unexpected and he asserts that the shooter would like to see his face on the cover of Time magazine. I think the last part might also be saying that P things the shooter would now regret his actions upon seeing the aftermath. Maybe, I’m not sure if that is what Pharrell means by the last line. It’s also possible he is saying that the shooter would have liked to get away with what he did with out any consequences.
Cause who knew that day that man would just
Go to VA with a Tec and spray campuses
What a way to see the cover of Time
I know that nigga wish he was standing in line
To see it….As if he didn’t do it.

Then the chorus again and that’s it.

I'm not sure if this thing is complete yet. Let me know what you think and if there are any other songs you wanna see explicated on here. I might do some of the new N*E*R*D. I'm not sure.

www.searchwithkanyewest.com

My homepage has been set to www.searchwithkanyewest.com and it didn't occur me to suggest this to other people until just now. It basically gives you Google and ask.com combined, and you can earn points while you do it. It has some of those annoying fake results pages that just lead you to another search page though...so if that bothers you a lot I would just stick with Google. Here's an article with more information on what it's all about.
So I wanna thank everyone who has become a regular. From my site statistics I can see that there are regular visitors from all over the U.S. and Europe and there are even people from Japan and Thailand checking out this blog. This makes me really happy, but I wish I could get some more feedback on which posts are cool or what you guys want more of. I'd love some suggestions for icons or if there are some other graphics or something you would like to request. I was thinking about starting some kinda membership system called the Child Rebel Soldier Fancore. Please comment and share your opinion!

Interview with Lupe catches him asking for Chris Brown tickets

RWD magazine had an interview with Lupe Fiasco recently in which he had to pause and take another call with a "D Jones" to get the hookup for some Chris Brown tickets. You can read the interview here. I thought I'd share since a lot of the news on here has been Kanye West and Pharrell Williams-oriented lately. It's got some interesting stuff comparing Lupe's first and second albums. If you're a video game nerd like me then you'll probably wanna check it out just to read what Lupe has to say about SEGA.

Child Rebel Soldier Album while on The Glow In The Dark Tour?

Don't act like I never told ya...haha oh man what did I say? MTV U.K. apparently thinks there's some merit to my idea that CRS will write or record their album while they are on tour together. Check out the article here. "There’s now speculation they will perform as a three-some on the tour and could even record a rumoured album while on the road." They gotta perform Us Placers, right? Let's hope so!
